Cox's Bazar: when is it actually good?
November to February. The sea is calm, the weather is dry, and the beach is usable all day. This is also when it is busiest and most expensive, particularly around Eid and long weekends.
Monsoon Cox's Bazar is a different proposition — dramatic, much cheaper, largely empty, and often unswimmable. Some travellers prefer it. Know which one you are booking.
When should you visit the Sundarbans?
November to March. Outside that window heat and humidity make multi-day boat trips genuinely uncomfortable, and wildlife sightings are less likely.
The Sundarbans is not a day trip. Realistic itineraries run two to three nights on a boat, and the quality of the operator matters more than almost any other decision on this list.
What is worth seeing around Sylhet and Srimangal?
Srimangal's tea gardens are at their best from late monsoon through winter, when the hills are green and the air is cool. Ratargul swamp forest is best in monsoon, when the water is high enough to row through it — which is exactly when other destinations are at their worst.
Jaflong and Bisanakandi are shaped by water levels. Spectacular after rain, unremarkable when dry. Check conditions before committing a day to them.
Can you still visit Saint Martin's Island?
Access to Saint Martin's is regulated and the rules have changed repeatedly, including limits on visitor numbers and overnight stays. Do not plan this trip on the basis of an article — including this one.

What about the hill districts?
