An inscription on the front wall dates the mosque to 1582 and names its builder as Mirza Murad Khan Qaqshal, a local Mughal-era noble. The single prayer hall has three domes, walls nearly two metres thick, heavy corner towers and a curved cornice that carries on the older Sultanate style. It stands in a quiet lawn ringed by palms inside Sherpur town, and few travellers on the highway know it is there.

How to get to Kherua Mosque
Sherpur is about 20 km south of Bogura on the Dhaka highway, 30 to 40 minutes by bus. From Sherpur bus stand a rickshaw reaches the mosque in about 10 minutes.
