In the quiet village of Patwari stands the terracotta Shiva shrine connected with the 16th-century poet Chandrabati. Daughter of the ballad composer Dwij Banshi Das, Chandrabati wrote the first female-authored version of the Ramayana in the Bengali language, telling the epic from Sita's viewpoint. Her father built this octagonal brick temple for her devotional practice after personal tragedy led her to remain unmarried and dedicated to literature. The weathered brick walls still bear floral carvings, overlooking the dried bed of the Phuleshwari.

How to get to Chandrabati Temple
At Patwari village, about 6 km north of Kishoreganj town. An auto-rickshaw or easy-bike from Nilganj road takes roughly 20 minutes.
