Built by Wali Muhammad during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Husain Shah, this was one of the grandest monuments of Gaur. Its exterior is faced with carved black stone slabs brought from the Rajmahal hills, and the central bay has three curved Bengali chauchala vaults flanked by twelve domes. The domes were once gilded, giving the building its name. Two tombs stand in the compound, including that of Bir Sreshtho Captain Mohiuddin Jahangir, who fell nearby in December 1971.
