Formed in 2010 by damming the Mahamaya stream between forested hill ridges in Mirsharai, this 11-square-kilometre reservoir provides water storage while creating an outdoor destination. Visitors hire kayaks or engine boats to navigate deep flooded coves bordered by thick jungle until reaching a natural rock waterfall at the far end. The lake remains far less crowded than urban parks, offering quiet waters surrounded by birdsong.
