A plaque over the main door dates the mosque to 1793, in the reign of the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II. Local tradition says it was built by Muslim craftsmen who came to work on the Kantajew temple and settled in the village. The oblong prayer hall carries three domes, with octagonal towers at the corners, and about a hundred terracotta panels survive on its walls. It is still in use, so dress modestly and avoid prayer times.
