Raja Ramnath had this reservoir dug in the mid-18th century, before the Battle of Plassey, and it is often called the largest man-made tank in Bangladesh. The water runs a little over a kilometre from north to south, edged by high embankments, brick ghats and shady paths that make an easy walk. The grounds became a national park in 2001, and herons, jacanas and kingfishers work the margins in winter. Weekends and Eid holidays bring crowds, so come on a weekday morning for quiet.

How to get to Ramsagar
About 8 km south of Dinajpur town at Tajpur. An easy-bike or CNG auto-rickshaw takes 20–30 minutes.
