Established in 1982 and expanded in 1996, the reserve covers nearly 1,800 hectares of hilly semi-evergreen jungle abutting India's Tripura state. It holds significant populations of Malayan giant squirrels, barking deer, five primate species, and elusive hornbills. Three walking trails cross forest streams and open lake banks before reaching a wooden canopy watchtower. Bring sturdy walking shoes, leech socks during wet weeks, and all your drinking water.
