Opened in 1884 by the Bengal Central Railway to connect Kolkata with Khulna, Jashore Junction is one of the historic railway hubs of southwestern Bangladesh. The station features red-brick colonial platforms, elevated footbridges, and broad-gauge tracks that branch toward Benapole and northern districts. In late 2024, the full Padma Bridge rail link connected Jashore directly to Dhaka, cutting travel times from the capital to under four hours. The station area remains a busy crossroad of tea stalls and intercity transit.
