Known locally in Tripura as Matai Hakor or God's Cave, this natural subterranean tunnel cuts roughly 100 metres through the Alutila ridge. Sunlight cannot penetrate the cavern, so visitors descend the hillside stairs and navigate the dark passage using lit kerosene bamboo torches or phone lights while wading through cool spring water. The floor is lined with rounded stones and silt, ending in a sunlit jungle exit on the opposite side of the hill. Wear footwear with good traction, as the wet boulders inside can be slick.
