Pioneering artist Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin established this foundation in 1975 to preserve traditional rural crafts from across Bangladesh. The wooded estate centres on Boro Sardar Bari, a grand 19th-century palace adorned with intricate plasterwork and mosaic tiles facing a large pond. Museum galleries exhibit antique woodcarvings, brass metalwork, nakshi kantha quilts and folk musical instruments. Master craftspeople demonstrate handloom weaving and pottery making on the grounds.
