Mulla Hizabar Akbar Khan erected this single-domed mosque in 1519 during the reign of Sultan Alauddin Husain Shah. The square brick structure features circular corner towers, curved cornices and an ornate central mihrab carved from dark basalt. Finely worked terracotta panels bearing lotuses and interlocking scroll motifs adorn the brick facade. It sits in a tranquil village setting away from the main tourist crowds of Sonargaon.
