Engineered to prevent tidal saline water from entering inland paddies, this water regulator on the Little Feni river has become a popular seaside retreat in Companiganj. A planted belt of mangrove trees borders the stone embankment, where egrets and kingfishers gather in the shallows as the tide recedes. During low tide, wide sandy mudflats open up toward the horizon where small fishing boats rest on their hulls. Late afternoon brings refreshing sea winds, though visitors should exercise caution near strong tidal surges during full moon periods.

How to get to Musapur Closure
Located in Companiganj upazila, about 30 km east of Maijdee town. Take a CNG auto-rickshaw from Maijdee to Basurhat bazaar, then another local CNG to the closure in about an hour.

Avoid walking deep onto tidal flats when the tide turns; incoming sea water rushes through drainage channels with surprising speed.
