Rai Bahadur Banamali Roy, zamindar of Tarash in Sirajganj, built this impressive town palace as his primary administrative and residential seat in Pabna. The two-storey building blends classical European Renaissance porticos and fluted pillars with traditional inner courtyards. In the mid-20th century it housed government offices and a medical college before being declared a protected national monument in 1998. The grand entrance portico facing Abdul Hamid Road remains an architectural focal point in the heart of the city.
