Tucked into the far northern corner of Ramchandrakura union, Panihata and neighbouring Tarani form an unhurried border landscape where the Bhogai River exits the Indian hills. On top of a green mound stands a small Catholic mission church, giving panoramic views of Meghalaya's Tura range rising dramatically on the other side of the border fence. Local Garo and Koch villagers farm small vegetable patches and fish in the river shallows. It remains largely free of commercial crowds, rewarding travelers seeking a peaceful nature walk.
