Purchased by Prince Dwarkanath Tagore in 1840 at an auction, this two-storied colonial manor in Shahjadpur served as the administrative headquarters of the Tagore family estates in Pabna. Rabindranath Tagore stayed here frequently between 1890 and 1897 to manage the zamindari lands. Surrounded by gardens, he composed masterpieces here including 'Postmaster', 'Chhuti', 'Samapti', 'Kabuliwala', and several poems of 'Sonar Tori'. Now a protected monument under the Department of Archaeology, it displays Tagore's bed, piano, palanquin, paintings, and personal letters.

How to get to Rabindra Kachharibari (Shahjadpur)
Located in Shahjadpur town, about 45 km south of Sirajganj town and 140 km from Dhaka via the Jamuna Bridge. Direct buses run from Mohakhali in Dhaka to Shahjadpur in about 3.5 to 4 hours.
