Shah Niamat Ullah arrived from Delhi in the mid-17th century with Prince Shah Shuja's patronage and established this mosque around 1659. The brick building rests on an elevated mound nearly thirty feet high, approached by long masonry staircases on the east and south. Thick lime-mortar walls and curved cornices survive from the original Mughal design, alongside the graves of the preacher and his family. Modest dress is expected when entering the prayer hall.
