Patharghata Fish Harbour পাথরঘাটা মৎস্য অবতরণ কেন্দ্র

A major marine fish landing centre on the Bishkhali River, where deep-sea fishing trawlers unload fresh Hilsa at dawn.

Operated by the Bangladesh Fisheries Development Corporation, this riverfront facility on the Bishkhali river handles catches from hundreds of coastal fishing trawlers. Activity peaks between 6:00 and 9:00 in the morning as boat crews unload heaps of silver Hilsa, pomfret, and giant sea catfish for rapid wholesale auctions. Ice-crushing mills, basket weavers, and salt merchants line the perimeter in non-stop motion. Arrive at daybreak to see the boats arrive and wear waterproof footwear.
