Set at the mouth of the Nilkamal River deep inside the Sundarbans South Wildlife Sanctuary, Hiron Point (Nilkamal) is a remote forest camp and monitoring station. The reserve protects dense mangrove thickets where Royal Bengal tigers, spotted deer, wild boars, and white-bellied sea eagles roam undisturbed. Wooden boardwalks lead through tidal creeks to coastal watchtowers facing the Bay of Bengal. Access is restricted to guided multi-day cruises equipped with registered forest guides and armed guards.
