Located on the northern edge of the Sundarbans reserve along the Passur River, Karamjal is the most accessible eco-tourism base in the mangrove forest. Managed by the Bangladesh Forest Department, the station operates a wildlife breeding programme for endangered saltwater crocodiles and the northern river terrapin (Batagur baska). A raised wooden foot trail meanders through dense sundari, gewa, and golpata groves where troops of rhesus macaques forage along the muddy banks. Observation decks provide panoramic views over winding tidal channels.
