Established in 2003 as a community-managed sanctuary within the Hail Haor wetland, Baikka Beel bans commercial fishing to protect fish stocks and bird habitats. During winter, thousands of migratory ducks, swamphens, and raptors gather among lotus beds and reed banks. A two-storey wooden watchtower provides viewing platforms equipped with informational signboards detailing seasonal species. Bring binoculars or a spotting scope, and arrange a country boat ride through the outer channels during the afternoon.
