On 5 August 1971, a guerrilla unit of the Mukti Bahini clashed with Pakistani military forces across the village of Jagannathpur near the Indian border. Eight freedom fighters died holding their defensive positions and were buried together in a quiet grove in Natuda. A brick-and-concrete memorial complex with eight commemorative pillars now preserves their resting place amid farmland. The site draws visitors during national holidays but remains quiet on ordinary days.
