Local tradition attributes the excavation of this lake to King Bijoy Sen of the Sena dynasty around seven centuries ago, dug to relieve a prolonged drought in the region. Spanning roughly 37 acres, the water body is bordered by raised embankments shaded by mature trees. Families and walkers gather along the western embankment in the cooler afternoons, and small paddle boats operate during winter months. Bring drinking water, as concession stands are sparse along the bank.
