For decades after partition, residents of the Bangladeshi enclave of Dahagram-Angarpota were cut off from the mainland by Indian territory until the Tin Bigha corridor was leased in 1992 and opened for round-the-clock passage in 2011. Visitors can travel along this unusual road strip, flanked by international border fences and watchtowers, directly into Dahagram union. Inside the enclave, rural village life, schools and markets thrive in a calm agricultural landscape along the Teesta bank. Carry personal photo identification when visiting.
