Khamarpara is renowned across south-western Bangladesh for its artisanal curd, made from raw cow milk reduced slowly over earthen stoves and set in clay handis. Multiple generations of sweetmakers have operated small workshops here, supplying markets as far as Dhaka and Khulna. A morning walk through the village lanes lets you watch artisans stirring huge copper cauldrons and ladling fresh curd into terracotta bowls. Buy a fresh pot directly from the makers to enjoy warm or chilled.
