Siddheswari Math সিদ্ধেশ্বরী মঠ

An ancient Kali temple and monastic ashram on the bank of the Nabaganga in Atharokhada, founded by regional sadhus centuries ago.

Originally known as Kalikatala crematorium ground, this riverside site was used by Hindu ascetics for meditation before Raja Srimanta Ray of Naldanga formally granted land and endowed an ashram in the 17th century. Later rebuilt by the ascetic Amalananda Swami, the complex features a conical temple spire, an old banyan tree and bathing steps leading into the Nabaganga. Pilgrims visit during Maghi Purnima and Kali Puja to make offerings and take holy dips. Dress conservatively when entering the inner prayer courtyard.
