Established in the early 19th century by British indigo planters including the Bengal Indigo Company, this two-storey brick residence was the administrative seat for oppressive regional indigo cultivation. Later acquired by planter James Hills, the estate encompasses arched verandas, processing vats, high-ceilinged offices, and a rooftop terrace overlooking the Kazla River. Now protected and managed by the local administration, the grounds have been landscaped into a public heritage garden. Early morning visits give you the best light for photographs of the columned facade.
