Spreading across the plains east of the Old Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers, Narsingdi pairs ancient trade history with modern textile mills. Excavations at Wari-Bateshwar have unearthed urban port settlements connected to overseas maritime trade over two millennia ago. Today the district supplies traditional handloom lungis and gamchas across Bangladesh from the sprawling weekend stalls of Baburhat.
