Established in 1997 through the initiative of college principal Dr. Nazmul Haque, this unusual institution is the only specialized rock museum in Bangladesh. Its indoor and open-air galleries house thousands of geological specimens collected from regional riverbeds, including granite, quartzite, petrified wood fossils and pre-historic stone implements. Exhibits trace the tectonic evolution of the Himalayan piedmont plain and explain how northern river currents carried massive stones from mountain valleys. It provides an unexpected scientific perspective on the surrounding landscape.
