Panchagarh forms the northernmost tip of Bangladesh, bordered on three sides by India and framed by Himalayan rivers carrying stones from the mountains. On crisp mornings in late autumn and winter, the snowy peaks of Kanchenjunga appear above the tea gardens and bamboo groves of Tetulia. Below the mountains lie the ancient ramparts of Bhitorgarh, historic terracotta mosques, and unusual plain-land tea plantations.
