Spanning the intersecting canals of Kuriana and Atghar villages in Nesarabad upazila, these twin floating markets have traded fruit from small wooden dinghies for generations. During the monsoon harvest from July through September, hundreds of orchard growers navigate narrow waterways piled high with freshly picked green guavas and amra (hog plums). Wholesale traders arrive in larger motorized cargo boats to buy directly from farmers. Visitors can hire a small hand-rowed dinghy from Kuriana launch ghat to float among the trading boats.
