Officially designated as Shaheed Siraj Lake after a freedom fighter of 1971, this striking body of water occupies an abandoned limestone quarry originally operated for the Chhatak Cement Factory. Rainwater has filled the deep excavation pit, giving the water a distinctive greenish-blue hue against the bare rock faces and green knolls. Small country boats can be hired for thirty-minute rides across the water. Do not swim here, as the quarry walls drop abruptly into deep cold water with submerged iron remnants.

How to get to Niladri Lake
Located at Tekerghat, about 12 km north of Tahirpur and 55 km from Sunamganj town. Reached by rented motorcycle from Tahirpur (about 45 minutes) or country boat from Tanguar Haor.
Sunamganj town is about 290 km from Dhaka, around 7 hours by road. Every way to get there is in the Sunamganj guide.
The northern bank borders Indian territory; stay south of the boundary markers.
