Planted in 2002 across roughly 33 acres by local businessman Zainal Abedin, this orchard contains over three thousand red cotton trees aligned in tidy parallel rows. In late winter, usually across February and early March, the entire grove sheds its leaves and blooms with brilliant red flowers that coat the sandy ground beneath. The edge of the orchard looks out over the Jadukata River toward the blue Indian mountain ridge. Visit in the morning during peak flowering weeks to avoid midday crowds.

How to get to Shimul Bagan
At Manigaon village, about 12 km from Tahirpur. Hire a motorbike or CNG auto from Tahirpur to the riverbank, then take a two-minute local ferry boat across the Jadukata.

Flowering season lasts only three to four weeks each year, typically peaking in mid-February.
