Spreading across the fertile delta plains of the Nabaganga and Kumar rivers, Jhenaidah preserves an exceptional cluster of 15th-century Sultanate architecture around Barobazar, known historically as the city of mosques, Mohammadabad. Beyond its archaeological mounds, the district is celebrated for vast banana groves and traditional date palm molasses. It was also the home of the mystic folk bard Pagla Kanai, whose jarigan and spiritual melodies remain rooted in the surrounding villages.
