Jute merchants and landlords of the Saha family built this eight-acre estate in 1890, erecting four magnificent neoclassical palaces facing an ornamental dighi. The complex includes Chowdhury Lodge with its Roman Corinthian pillars, the Venetian-styled Ananda Lodge, Maharaj Lodge and Kalicharan Lodge. The estate was adapted after the 1971 Liberation War into a Police Training Centre, ensuring the gardens, hanging terraces and gilded plaster mouldings were meticulously preserved. Visitors can stroll along the water pathways and view the vintage architectural details.
